Tour Location

Ladakh is a high altitude, remote Himalayan region where local knowledge, route planning, and acclimatization awareness are essential for a safe and rewarding journey. This is especially true when traveling to places like Nubra Valley, Turtuk, Pangong Lake, and Hanle, where road conditions, weather, and altitude can change quickly.

Leh

Leh is the gateway to Ladakh and the starting point of this high altitude Himalayan journey. Situated at around 11,500 ft, Leh is known for its monasteries, mountain views, and cultural heritage. It is also the primary acclimatization base before traveling to higher regions like Nubra, Pangong, and Hanle.

Nubra Valley

Accessible via the legendary Khardung La, Nubra Valley offers a dramatic contrast of cold desert landscapes, sand dunes, rivers, and green villages. The valley is famous for Diskit Monastery, Hunder sand dunes, and rare double hump Bactrian camels, making it one of Ladakh’s most scenic regions.

Turtuk

Turtuk is one of the most culturally unique villages in Ladakh. Once part of Baltistan, this village preserves Balti traditions, language, and architecture. Known for apricot orchards, stone houses, and warm local hospitality, Turtuk offers an authentic border village experience that feels untouched by time.

Pangong Lake

Located at an altitude of approximately 14,270 ft, Pangong Lake is renowned for its ever changing shades of blue and dramatic mountain backdrop. The lake stretches across India and China and is one of the most iconic natural landmarks in Ladakh, offering peaceful surroundings and unforgettable views.

Hanle

Hanle lies deep in the Changthang region and is one of the most remote and peaceful locations in Ladakh. Surrounded by vast open plains and barren mountains, Hanle is famous for its monastery and some of the clearest night skies in India, making it a paradise for stargazers and travelers seeking silence and solitude.

Monasteries & Cultural Sites

This journey also covers some of Ladakh’s most important spiritual landmarks:
  • Hemis Monastery
  • Thiksey Monastery
  • Shey Palace
  • Sindhu Darshan Ghat
